Tugboat captain needed for transporting barges of materials and equipment to and from job sites on the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast in inland waters usually along the ICWW and adjacent waterways safely operating a twin engine 1,000 to 1,600 hp tugboat.. Must have USCG captains license 100 ton with towing endorsement, experience with handling barges in coastal waters, physically capable of frequently climbing steps and stairs on a multilevel tug boat and assist with line handling and other duties. Knowledgeable of USCG rules and regulations. Safety oriented, good communication skills, team builder, multi-tasker.. Flexible schedule, typically 2 to 3 weeks on with at least a week off. Excellent compensation and benefits. Not required to stay on the boat while working on a job site.
